Acharya Dr. Prem Chand Shridhar Ji

Dr. Prem Chand Shridhar is a very energetic Vedic scholar and zealous missionary for Arya Samaj. He came to Houston from his home base in Delhi, India where he retired a Senior Teacher after almost 40 years long teaching service to two generations of students. He holds four Master of Arts (M.A.) degrees, a M.Phil. and a Ph.D. from Delhi University with a thesis titled "Philosophical Reflections in Rigvedic Legends".

He has published a number of articles and books on Vedas, Vedic Culture, and Arya Samaj and has presented papers at many conferences in India and abroad. He was a Visiting Professor at Hindu University of America in Orlando, Florida and is a member of Hindu Writers Forum and a member of World Association for Vedic Studies. In 1999, Santa Cruz Arya Samaj, Mumbai awarded him Shri Meghji Bhai Arya Sahitya Puraskar.

Dr. Shridhar has been a Pracharak (Missionary) for Arya Samaj for more than 35 years. He has traveled all over India, to Kenya, England, Canada and U.S.A. spreading the Divine Knowledge in Vedas and "Return to Vedas" message of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. For his missionary work, Arya Kendriya Sabha, Delhi, honored him in 1992 with Shri Lalman Arya Vedic Vidwan Puraskar.

Since March, 2000, Dr. Shridhar has been part of Arya Samaj Greater Houston and Vedic Culture Center and is spreading Swami Dayanand's message throughout the region. He helps people how to change their lives for the better and provides counseling in personal matters. Dr. Shridhar has performed numerous weddings and all kind of Vedic Sanskars. He is available to perform Sanskars at your homes or business.

In December 2011, Acharya Shridhar retired from Arya Samaj Greater Houston and returned to India to be with his children and grand children.
