Annual Festivals and Major Events
New Year’s Day Havan:Special Havan is conducted on New Year’s day at 11.00AM. All guests get a chance to offer Ahuti in the Havan. It is followed by Arti and delicious lunch.
Diwali: It is celebrated with great enthusiasm. The program starts with Havan, Bhajans, cultural program by DAVSS/DAVMS kids, Arti, followed by the GRAND DIWALI MELA (In the back of the main Arya Samaj building) Volunteers set up lots of mouthwatering food stalls. The professional firework display happens at dark. Kids can play with simple, yet fun fireworks to get the feel for the mela.
Holi: It starts with Havan, Bhajans, and then everybody enjoys outdoor Holi Program surrounding Yaga Shala. Program consists of dancing, lots of tasty dishes, Thandai, and Mithais, etc. with Holi music playing in the background. Eevery participant gets dry colors to apply on the friends, enjoy the delicious food, and have a good Holi time.
DAVSS and DAVMS Graduation Ceremony: The parents of the graduating kids become Yajmaans that day. The program starts with Havan,Bbhajans, followed by cultural program by the kids. Graduating children are honored with the respective diplomas/certificates.
Karva Chauth:Special Puja is held before sunset on the day of the Karva Chauth
Sthapana Divas of Arya Samaj: It starts with Havan, Bhajans, followed by Cultural program by the DAVSS kids. Slide show presentation is made to give updates about Arya Samaj progress.
Shivratri, Ram Navami, Janam Ashtami,Rakshabandhan, Gandhi Jyanti, Dushahra, Maharishi Dayanand birthday, Swami Sharddhanand Balidan divas: These events are also celebrated in Arya Samaj during the regular Sunday Satsang with special Bhajans and Pravachans etc.
