Vedic Dharma’s has four Vedas, as the basis of all knowledge for humanity is enshrined in them. Four Brahamana Granthas, Four UpaVedas, Six Darsans (Sad Darsan : Satra),eleven Upanisads and six Vedanga constitute basic ancillary scriptures to four Vedas, Following are Significant highlights:

  1. It is the oldest religion in the world and has been in existence since 1960853101 years.
  2. The religion is divine in origin and has no founder.
  3. Omnipotent, Omniscient, Eternal, Omnipresent, Just, Immortal, Infinite, Incorporeal, Impersonal God is the creator of the Universe. Alone Almighty, Merciful God Is Worthy of worship.
  4. God never incarnates, nor takes a form nor possesses body.
  5. God, Soul and Matter are eternal entities.
  6. Principles of Vedic Dharma are scientific and conform to the laws of nature.
  7. Realization of Ultimate truth is only way to salvation. Study of Arsh Granthas(Vedas), practice of Yoga and participation in Satsang can bring Salvation which is not handed to a person by visiting Kasi, Mathura, or Haridwar.
  8. Ghosts and spirits are figments of the imaginations, which are product of ignorance and superstition.
  9. A geographical place for heaven or hell does not exit. Enjoyment in this life is heaven and suffering is hell.
  10. Neither heaven nor Devatas of heaven exist. Parents, teachers, scholars and natural entities of divine qualities are real Devatas. Those who contribute to the welfare of mankind are called Devatas.
  11. Shri Rama, Shri Krishna and others are great people but these people are neither God nor incarnations of God nor incarnations of God.
  12. People are responsible for their own actions and cannot escape consequences. Sins are not forgiven, for God is just God.
  13. Every human being has a potential to grow, progress, and realize God in this life.
  14. Society is organized into four Varnas, classes based on Vocational aptitudes.
  15. Varna is not determined by birth.
  16. Rebirth, or reincarnation is based on the person’s deeds and actions, Niskam Karma means selfless service which guides rebirth.
  17. Taking bath in rivers does not wash away ones sins. It is a sign of ignorance and superstition.
  18. Five important duties, Panch Karma of a person are as follows:
    1. Invocation, Meditation and Prayer to God is Brahma Yajna.
    2. The use of natural divine forces for the betterment of environment is Dev Yajna or Agnihotra.
    3. The care and service to parents and elders is Pitri Yajna.
    4. The care and service to indigents, dependents and the disabled is Balivaishva Dev Yajna.
    5. The care and service to scholars, reformers, and sanyasis is Atithi Yajna.
    Yajna means selfless, dedicated, and devotional services and efforts to serve humanity.
  19. To provide devotional care and service to living parents, teachers and scholars, which is called Shraddha. The service with Shraddha or devotion is Shraddha.
  20. Betterment of body, mind and soul is Sanskar. In all, there are sixteen Sanskars from conception to cremation.
  21. Social evil including astrology, child marriages, drinking, discrimination, gambling, idol and or image worship, killing and eating animals. Polygamy, superstitions, sorcery, untouchability, smoking and drug use have no place in Vedic Dharma.
  22. All people are equal no one is higher or lower. Priest or Samyasi or Guru or a common person male or female, or a child or an adult, rich, or poor, should have no special preference while praying unless one is handicapped. All are God’s children. There is no intermediator between God and self. Neither Guru, nor priest, nor pandit can pray as proxy for any one.
  23. Moksha or liberation of Soul is possible through Ashtang Yoga and Purusartha. Astanga Yoga is the royal road of purusartha.
  24. OM is supreme name of God .It includes all the attributes of God.
  25. Namaste means to "bow to divinity as expressed in the person." Therefore, use Namaste to greet all people, for all the world is one big family.
